Charryse Johnson is a speaker, life coach, and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who inspires people to “live well” in mind, body, and spirit. For more than a decade she has provided counsel, leadership, and training to individuals, families and teams throughout the U.S., France, Ecuador, and China.
Proudly raised by a single parent and having overcome numerous obstacles and setbacks, she is driven and determined to spread hope and encouragement. She operates from the belief that we are each more than the sum of our circumstances.
Her insight and lifestyle has been broadcast on local radio,social media, and television in an effort to breed hope and encouragement to those desiring support and growth in their personal lives.
Ms.Johnson’s career combines experience in both pastoral counseling and psychotherapy, education, and speaking. She holds a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies and a M.A. in Professional Counseling. Currently she is pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Trauma and Crisis. Ms.Johnson is a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and a Level 1 practitioner trained in somatic and sensorimotor work geared towards the specific needs of eating disorder patients. As a clinician, she has worked with individuals, couples and families across the lifespan and is adept at helping individuals navigate challenging life transitions and past hurts. She specializes in Eating Disorders and provides unique support for spouses, parents, and families who have loved ones in treatment. Ms. Johnson uses an emotion focused approach to address disordered and/or emotional eating, poor body image, and co-occurring mood disorders, incorporating Yoga and movement where appropriate. She has been extensively trained in the Unified Treatment which uses evidence- based approaches and transdiagnostic modalities in the treatment of disordered eating. In addition, her past clinical work provided experience in partial hospitalization day treatment, intensive outpatient and group therapy settings.
Charryse views therapy as an collaborative process and offers an integrated approach in which values, the search for meaning, and the power of choice are a central focus. She also enjoys incorporating experiential techniques and creating unique specialized treatment plans to meet the needs of the individual.It is her desire to offer a nonjudgemental environment that provides support, encouragement, and practical skills. Morevover, she seeks to instill hope and help others see the interconnectedness of their mind, body, and spirit.
